Performing Lines

Performing Lines at The Dance Warehouse offer dancers ages 5-18 an opportunity to pursue dance in a more committed, focused setting than our recreational classes. Dancers attend class 1-3 days a week with a variety of instructors. These dancers compete in three local competitions in the spring, perform in multiple recitals, attend a convention and/or master class, and have hourly requirements of dance throughout the summer. Pre-Performing Line Program

For dancers Ages 6 & up who wishes to experience competition and performance opportunities, but do not want the commitment and cost of our Performing Lines. Monthly tuition includes costume and competition fees. Dancers will perform at one local competition, at a nursing home and multiple recitals in the spring.

1 Day a Week Performing Line

Our youngest dancers ages 5-7. These teams will compete a jazz and tap dance. Regular season team rehearsals will take place on one day for approximately 1.5 hours.

2 Day a Week Performing Line

For dancers ages 8-18. These teams will compete 2-3 dances in the jazz, tap, hip hop and lyrical styles. Regular season team rehearsals will take place on 2 separate days for approximately 2-3 hours per day.

3 Day a Week Performing Line

Our most committed dancers ages 8-18. These teams will compete 3-4 dances in the jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop, contemporary and musical theater styles. Regular season team rehearsals will take place on 3 separate days for approximately 2-3 hours per day.

Small Groups

Small Groups are offered in addition to our 1-3 day a week Performing Lines. Dancers may audition for a variety of styles and may be selected to compete these extra dances. Our small group dancers will attend 1-2 extra competitions throughout the season.

Solo/Duet/Trio

Dancers interested in competing a solo, duet or trio may submit an application. Dancers selected will have the option to compete in extra competitions.

PERFORMING LINE AUDITIONS

Performing Lines at The Dance Warehouse offer dancers ages 5-18 the opportunity to pursue dance in a more committed and focused setting than our recreational classes. Dancers attend class 1-3 days a week with a variety of instructors. These dancers compete in three local competitions in the spring, perform in multiple recitals, attend a convention and/or master class, and have hourly requirements to dance throughout the summer. They attend team parties, a studio lock-in, potlucks, etc.

As our studio has more than tripled in size since opening in 2004, the demand for a spot on our Performing Lines has grown. In order to work with interested dancers intensely and on an individual basis, we offer a Prep-Workshop & Audition combination. We intend to make the selection process for our Performing Lines a fun learning experience while also enabling our staff to witness skill level. We hope to really get to know dancers as we determine placement for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.

Dancers will work with a variety of instructors in all three of the required elements - tap, ballet & jazz - over the three-day workshop (see dates & times below). It is during these classes that the dancers will learn the choreography and skills needed to tryout at our professionally judged audition on Thursday, July 30. Dancers ages 7 & up may also audition for Small Groups on Friday, July 31 (additional $25, ages 7-10 9:00am-10:30am, ages 11+ 10:30am-12:00pm). Dancers unable to attend the entire audition process will still be considered, but keep in mind that they may miss some of the important material needed to perform their best. Results will be posted by audition number on our website by Wed, August 5th at 5:00pm.

Once selected, each Performing Line dancer will be mailed a copy of the 2025-2026 contract to review before accepting their spot on the line. This contract will have details for the entire upcoming dance year (days, time requirements, financial commitment, recital and competitions, etc.).

Each Performing Line dancer is required to attend dance intensives with their Performing Line the weeks of August 10 & 17. The exact schedule will be provided upon acceptance to one of our Performing Lines. We will start learning choreography for the 2025-2026 season during this week. Please reserve these weeks now, as these classes are mandatory for our Performing Line dancers.

Season Requirements Vary Based on Age & Level

Ages 5-6: One and a half hours, one day per week. 2 dances at 3 competitions.

Ages 7-8: Two hours, two days per week. 2-3 dances at 3 competitions.

Ages 9-10: Two-three hours, two days per week. 3 dances at 3 competitions.

Ages 11-12: Two-three hours, two-three days per week. 3 dances at 3 competitions.

Ages 13+: Two-three hours, three days per week. 4 dances at 3 competitions.

Dancers ages 7 and up will have the opportunity to audition for a Performing Line with increased hours and/or number of dances.

Ages 5-6: Monday - Wednesday 4:00-5:00pm & Thursday 10:30-11:30am $85

Ages 7-8: Monday - Wednesday 4:00-6:00pm & Thursday 11:45am-1:15pm $135

Ages 9-10: Monday - Wednesday 5:00-8:00pm & Thursday 1:45-3:15pm $155

Ages 11-12: Monday - Wednesday 5:00-8:00pm & Thursday 3:30-5:00pm $155

Ages 13+: Monday - Wednesday 6:00-9:00pm & Thursday 5:15-6:45pm $155
